The Merge Ethereum (ETH): What do bitcoiners think?

The Ethereum Merge was completed yesterday, early this morning. Many people responded after it was completed. The first person to appear on Twitter is Vitalik Buterin, co-founder of Ethereum. And then there were the bitcoin boosters who were quick to praise it or deny the Fusion itself.

Vitalik Buterin is showered with praise for The Merge

Yesterday Vitalik Buterin was ecstatic that the Twitter community had an experience. Because just after the end of the Fusion, more precisely 17 minutes, he published this message:

And US [l’]we finished!

Happy Combination everyone. This is a great moment for the Ethereum ecosystem. Everyone who contributed to the success of this merger should be extremely proud today. »

A pleasure that was quickly shared with a large number of followers (192K likes) and icons of the cryptosphere (like Mr BIG WHALE, Richard Heart, Charles Hoskinson…), institutions like (Ledger, BONEARMY, etc.) and more.

Patrick Collison, CEO of Stripe, did not hide his excitement:

Excited about the Merger! One of the freshest examples of sustainable, ambitious and technically challenging open source development. Congratulations and good luck to @VitalikButerin and the Ethereum community. »

@jchervisnky also tweeted the same impression:

You don’t have to be an Ether to be excited about Fusion. This is an incredible achievement in the history of open source software and will lay bare the weakness of the Web3 skeptics who used environmental trollingto hide their hatred of crypto and now have to turn around. »

Joseph Lubin, another Ethereum co-founder also followed Buterin’s lead by tweeting:

Congratulations to the entire community. And a big shout out to all the developers, customers, researchers and educators for their commitment to this big milestone. @benjameinion_xyz? @MKALININ2? @ajsutton for educating so many people, researching the Merge invoice and building @Teky_ConsenSys. »

The Merger is not unanimous

If pro-Merge, anti-Merge also abound in the crypto universe. Among the latter are especially the initiators of hard forks that will have to give birth to Ethereum PoW.

But alongside them there are also Bitcoin maximalists who only have eyes for BTC and stablecoins like Tether.

Alex Gladstein, CSO at the Human Rights Foundation, left this comment:

TLDR (” For a long time, did not read ”) on why it is necessary to have a world currency in the future Proof of Workand no Proof of Stake.”

According to Cryptoglobe, Peter McCormack, Dennis Porter, Samson Mow, and John Carvalho are among those who took Buterin out of tender words.

Ethereum has officially merged and moved towards PoS, meaning it will never be able to go carbon negative. #Bitcoin will achieve carbon negative status at the end of 2024. »

Bitcoin’s biggest and most divided competitor, Ethereum, has given up the competition for hash power and made a full transition to enterprise security today in what the media is calling “The Merge.” ETH prices fell 12% after the news. »

Is this step important for Ethereum?

After the Merger, there will be no further activity mining the blocks on Ethereum. Blockhain will also be less energy intensive and will leave a very small carbon footprint. But there will also be some opportunities for investors. Maybe that’s why Zack Voell and Udi Wertheimer raised their voices against Bitcoin maximalists. Because instead of saying such nonsense regarding Ethereum, it could be “ talk about something else or say nothing “.
