Meeting with the President of the Bitcoin Association in Serbia

Serbia passed the Digital Assets Law in 2020. Tomorrow’s conference was one of the first major events that attracted metaverses and Web 3.0 to Serbia. Do you think that Serbia is on the way to become a major cryptocurrency hub? If it hasn’t already.

“This is certainly one of the goals we have in mind, especially considering that the Digital Assets Act still needs to be adjusted within the current regulatory framework. With the conference, we managed to shed light on this important issue and, especially now, when there are trends on the horizon, our goal is to make Serbia not only a center, but a global center innovation of technologies outside the blockchain industry. And we are definitely in the right direction. »

As the president of the Bitcoin Association of Serbia, how do you see the interest in cryptocurrencies in the country?

“This is probably one of the most asked questions, and it’s probably one of the hardest questions. The interest in crypto here in Serbia varies from time to time, mainly depending on the current market value of cryptocurrencies. The bulls certainly get people’s attention, but during a bear market, all activity stops. Fortunately, we have many software development companies in the blockchain space that are not strictly tied to cryptocurrency market values, so the interest is there, it just needs to be front and center for the different periods of market movements. »

2022 was a great success tomorrow, will there be a next edition?

” Indeed! We have already announced the next two editions for 2023, in February in Dubai and again in May in Belgrade. Our goal is to focus on trends in this industry, and as the industry moves very quickly, we must be faster! And there is no doubt! »

What is your message to young investors and entrepreneurs in the Web 3.0 sector?

“Play the smart game. Be wise, learn from your own mistakes and always move the last job. This is probably the most creative sector we’ve seen to date, but it faces dangers along the way. Persistence and hard work will definitely pay off. »

Why should a foreign Web 3.0 company locate in Serbia?

“An excellent question, and an easy answer: technical knowledge combined with hard work, innovative ideas from Serbian entrepreneurs, and all this at affordable costs. All this makes Serbia a great place to start your Web 3.0 business from scratch. We have seen a large increase in the number of companies founded since 2020 and most of them have come from the web space3. The question is not WHY, but WHEN. »

Finally, which blockchain technology will disrupt our economy the most?

“I want to know myself. Whatever the technology, I hope the use case for it will be extremely user-friendly and applicable to real-world finance, much more so than when we moved from barter to trade. And again, it’s only a matter of time before such use cases appear. »
