NFTs on Instagram thanks to Ethereum, Polygon, Solana and Flow
According to information from our colleagues at CoinDesk, Instagram will therefore focus on 4 networks for integrating NFTs: Ethereum (ETH), Polygon (MATIC), Solana (SOL) and Flow (FLOW). It is recalled that Ethereum is currently dominant in terms of size, but that new competitors – such as Solana – are also beginning to establish themselves in the sector.
It’s not known if Instagram they will offer all these networks at launch, or will these be offered in a phased manner. Initially, the pilot will bring together only a few US – based users and creators, before opening it more widely.
Instagram would also plan to integrate the most widely used encrypted wallets today, like MetaMask. The service would be completely free.

A little revolution for Instagram?
With Instagram already a hub for creators, the integration of NFTs could spark a new wave of interest in the industry. In fact users will be able to display their non-monotonous signs in the future. directly on their profilesand tagging the artists who created them.
In any case, all this reflects Meta’s overall strategy, which had already confirmed that its Novi wallet would allow the exchange of NFTs in its future metaverse. On the WhatsApp side, Web3 integration has also begun. Last December, the app confirmed that it was launching cryptocurrency payments. So the arrival of the Meta mastodon in the sector needs to be closely monitored.
