Crypto-currency exchange Binance is building space in the Portals, a metaverse platform built on the Solana blockchain. Gateways recreate a dense urban environment where users can explore interactive buildings and rooms.
” Binance.US is in the process of securing space in Downtown Portals with the aim of providing the latest news, charts and virtual events “, Portal Community and Partnership Manager Chris Lund said in a Twitter message.
Chris Lund added that FTX.US, the US arm of the FTX cryptocurrency exchange, will also build its own office in Portal.
Companies have tackled metaverses like The Sandbox and Decentraland, both of which are based on Ethereum. Portals seem to be an early option for capturing viewers on Solana’s blockchain.
Binance.US spokesman Zachary Tindall said the virtual building is supposed to be a gathering place for exchange users.
” We are creating a space in the metaverse for the Binance.US community to come together“, Said Tindall. ” This is the first of many steps we are taking to look ahead as we build and reach our community in new environments. »
And Binance will not be alone.

The Solana Raydium, Magic Eden, Audius, Bonfida and other projects will have a presence in the metaverse of the Portal, Chris Lund said. Metaverses generally describes a virtual world in which humans can interact as they do in real life, but digitally.
On Decentraland, global electronics giant Samsung launched a metaverse version of its Samsung 837 location in New York. Named “Samsung 837X”, this pop-up space consisted of quests leading to exclusive NFTs and mixed reality live events.
